WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO OPEN YOUR OWN STORE?
I’m not the actual owner of the store, but working for such a young and dynamic company like VIU has been very inspiring. Being the VIU community manager has been a thrilling and challenging experience so far. Our store here in Frankfurt is unique because we sell VIU glasses as well as the bags from Swiss label QWSTION. It makes me proud to represent two such exceptional and fashionable labels.
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE STORE LOCATION AND ITS HISTORY?
Our VIU Flagship store in Frankfurt is located right in the centre of Frankfurt’s financial district, not far from its main shopping area, thus making it the perfect destination for business people, students, commuters and tourists. Close by you find the up-and-coming "Bahnhofsviertel" which has gained considerable importance/reputation in Frankfurt’s music and art scene over the past couple of years. The "Bahnhofsviertel" with its many restaurants, hip bars and cafes sets a unique contrast to the infamous "Red Light District".
WHAT ARE YOUR DAILY CHALLENGES?
To increase VIU’s publicity within Frankfurt’s community and to maintain close and long-lasting relationships with our clients. The main challenge for a young company with a different concept to others, is to continuously demonstrate our abilities and to attract attention. Through direct contact to our clients, VIU’s strict transparency policy and, most importantly, our products, we successfully manage to convince and satisfy our customers.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CUSTOMERS? WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
Our customers are fashion and trend conscious women and men who appreciate the functional, stylish and sustainably manufactured products we offer. We reach a highly diverse clientele, bringing together students, business execs and hipsters. Ultimately, everyone is looking for a high quality, long-lasting product that will bring joy. The different kind of materials and colours we offer are a benefit to our clients and, thus, our company. And in the end, everyone is a winner.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH A BAG OF OURS?
What I like most about QWSTION is the functionality, minimalist design and material. The brand philosophy runs like a continuous thread through the whole collection. I am especially excited about the multiple carrying styles that the bags all offer: for example, the Tote bag can be worn as a shoulder bag as well as a backpack. I particularly like the leather collection and the products of the Huber + Egloff collab.
