NADJA BLEULER,
SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT ADVISOR
AND ORGANIC WINEMAKER

OUR CONNECTION TO NADJA
Nadja came into the QWSTION circle through a mutual friend, new media wizard and former publisher Yves Sinka at a roundtable discussion on the topic of ‘investing with impact.’ We were inspired by her impressive career trajectory within the male-dominated finance industry, as well as her forays into two passion projects: winemaking and improving urban green spaces. When we met, Nadja had already been wearing the QWSTION Small Tote in Organic Jet Black for a while, which presented us with the ideal opportunity to glean her honest opinion.

WHAT LED YOU TO WHAT YOU DO TODAY?
I
simply followed my interests. And I was lucky to have met people who
encouraged me to do so. This was especially helpful when it came to
leaving the safe haven for a while to pursue projects “of the heart,”
like winemaking.
WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT IN LIFE?
About
the people who are close to me and a nice, liveable, intact
environment. And, of course, for being able to do what I find exciting,
joyful, and meaningful.
HOW DO YOU ADDRESS THIS WITH YOUR WORK?
Professionally,
I deal with financial investments and try to give more weight to the
issue of sustainability there. In my wine project, Domaine Jardin Cosmique
we work according to organic guidelines in the vineyard, do without
unnecessary additives in the winemaking process and take care to reduce
the footprint at the downstream stages of the value chain as well – for
example, by using bottles that are as light as possible. I also
co-founded an association that campaigns for more greening of Zurich’s
streets, walls, and squares in order to reduce the heat island effects
intensified by densification and climate change, to improve biodiversity
in the city, and the quality of life of residents.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN THE THINGS YOU BUY?
Durability,
aesthetics, versatility, and sustainable manufacturing – exactly what
your products are all about. And yes, sometimes I like it eclectic too!
