AROUND THE GLOBE WITH SIBYLLE STŒKLI:
GLOBAL DESIGN RESEARCH
Initiated in 2012, Global Design Research was a six-month research project that took designer Sibylle Stœckli to five continents on an exploratory voyage to meet with designers and craftspeople. In exchanging knowledge on cultural differences in aesthetic traditions, design philosophies, manufacturing processes, Sibylle aimed to invite reflection on the connections between industry, crafts, objects and their relationship to nature and humankind.
Sibylle’s approach to research – in her own words – is “direct and anthropological, so as to allow the creation of an inventory of designers, thoughts, designer objects, recipes and manufacturing techniques with the aim of reflecting on durability.” On that note, see what she had to say about our Bananatex® Roll Pack here.
