WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO OPEN YOUR OWN STORE?
We wanted to create a versatile store that could serve as a design agency at the same time. It was exactly this unusual combination that inspired us to establish the concept store «Garment Knowledge United». The most important thing for us was to create a symbiosis between stylish design and sustainability. But it was also essential to have contact with our customers in order to raise awareness with regard to quality and receive constant feedback. Our aim is to keep the value creation process of our products as transparent as possible for our customers. That is why we created this conceptual mix which gives our customers the opportunity to look behind the scenes.
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE STORE LOCATION AND ITS HISTORY?
The store is located in the heart of the old city of Mainz, exactly opposite one of the oldest and most well-known distribution companies for classical music. Schott Musik International was founded in 1770 and at the time distributed the works of Richard Wagner, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Beethoven. From our store, we can see the inner courtyard and the room in which Richard Wagner lived and composed his music when he visited Mainz.
WHAT ARE YOUR DAILY CHALLENGES?
Our focus in the fight against the consumption of disposable products is on long-lasting and high quality products. We address the problems posed by the consumption of short-lived disposable products every day. Our focus hereby lies on high quality products. The challenge mainly consists in introducing customers to this way of thinking with a long-term effect. We would like to pass on our motivation for questioning things and to raise awareness with regards to the importance of quality. At the end of the day, large companies depend on us and not the other way around. For us, Garment Knowledge United also means passing on our knowledge.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CUSTOMERS? WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
The customers who come to our store are looking for answers. Thanks to the transparency we created, they can retrace the entire value creation chain. They come to our store completely unbiased. With the support of our innovative approach to marketing and communication, our customers can expand their target market and increase their brand awareness. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH A BAG OF OURS?
The product speaks for themselves. The timeless and simple design of a Qwstion bag does not always stand out in a crowd. So, the main thing we remember is their high degree of flexibility. Every bag can be carried in an individual and different way. All QWSTION products are carefully thought through and we are not the only ones who are convinced by this fact. The high degree of functionality ensures that the bags’ sustainability is not purely based on fashion.
