NINA BRUUN,
TREND, COLOR, DESIGN &
INTERIOR-CONSULTANT

Our connection to Nina

We’ve always felt a connection to Scandinavian design – probably stemming from the Swiss modernist design heritage that has influenced us. When it comes to color and texture, Danish design seems to be a step ahead, though. And Nina Bruun is on the forefront of this development.

WHAT LED YOU TO WHAT YOU DO TODAY?
A lot of it is simply social heritage, as coming from a creative family has meant a lot to me. I’ve always been surrounded by creativity and aesthetics in some way. Also, my curiosity has carried me along way through my childhood, youth and adult life. These things, combined with a lot of hard work and being a perfectionist, have been a great combination.

WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT IN LIFE?
People, travels, food, wine and good design.

I am a little worried about the white – and I’d like to see color options!

HOW DO YOU ADDRESS THESE WITH YOUR WORK?
Most often, a good design is inspired by our ordinary everyday life. Good design solves a problem and a great idea can come from the challenges we face in our daily life. In that sense, I use my own life – and my own experience very actively in my work.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN THE THINGS YOU BUY?
I always look for things that compliment me and my identity. It’s very judiciously when I buy things and I focus on high quality and long lasting items. This is why I don’t buy a lot of things – I’ll rather have a few great ones.
